But what does this quote mean for the business owner with more modest goals?

It means that as the leader of your business if you can tell your brand story in a powerful way you will set the vision for your company, the team that follow you and the customers that buy from you. Tell it when you speak to people. Tell it on your website. Tell it everywhere you go and you will transform your business.

Seth Godin is a hugely respected business marketing expert with particular know how in building brands that stand out from the rest in crowded markets.
